5 Meal/Snack/Protein Bars for the whole family! | Fitness Friday

Bars are in high demand in our house.  My son is slightly obsessed with them, I love them for how quick I can consume them.  (There are days when I feel like I have absolutely no time to eat.)

I thought it would be fun to share or favorite meal/snack/and protein bars my family loves and enjoys on a daily basis.

My favorite anytime bar:

Luna Bars – My favorite flavor is the Peppermint Chocolate bar.

"Protein Bar" "Luna Bar" "Protein"

It is divine. I don’t think there is a time of day that I couldn’t eat this bar!  This Luna Bar only 180 calories, 5g fat, and has 8g of protein.  I adore many of the Luna flavors.  You don’t feel like you are eating a meal replacement when you eat them, you feel like you are treating yourself.  And that makes me happy.

My favorite “sweet-tooth satisfying” bar:

Larabar – Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

"Larabar" "Gluten Free Bars" "Whole Food"Larabars are amazing.  When choosing snacks for my family, I strive to find nutrious whole food.  I have become a bit obsessed with reading labels, and making sure I know what exactly is being put in my body.  Larabars only have as many as 9 ingredients, and some as few as 2!  Real food for real people.  The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is a favorite of both mine and my son.  Plus they are gluten free.  We enjoy many flavors they offer, but this is my favorite bar to satisfy my sweet tooth.  This bar has 210 calories, 11g of fat, and 4g of protein.

My favorite post workout bar:

Clif Builders – Chocolate Peanut Butter

"Post Workout Protein" "Protein Bar" "Clif Bar"

This bar has 20g of complete protein,  23 vitamins and minerals you need to boost protein metabolism, and carbs for long lasting energy. Best of all they never contain ingredients like artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols or trans fats.  Plus unlike some other high protein bars, this one taste great!  This Clif Builder bar has 270 calories, 8g fat, and 20g protein.  It is my perfect post workout bar!

My son’s favorite bar:

Clif Kid Z bar – Chocolate Chip

"Organic Bar" "Kids Snack Bar"

As a mother I can rest easy knowing my son is snacking on this bar. Each of the Clif Kid Z bars have 12 essential vitamins and minerals, 8-11g of whole grains and are 95% organic.  Plus they have no trans fats, no preservative, no hydrogenated oils, no high fructose corn syrup, and no artificial flavors or coloring.  This Clif Kids bar has only 120 calories, 2.5g fat, and 3g protein.

My favorite “Homemade” Protein bar:

5 Ingredient NO BAKE Protein Bars – via Jess @BlondePonytail

"Protein Bars" "No Bake Protein Bars" "Homemade Protein Bars"

I am pretty sure the reason these are my favorite besides the fact that they are delicious, is that they are NO BAKE!! I mean, how nice is it to have these on hand?  They are made using Peanut Butter, Honey, Flax Seed, Oats, and Protein.  Mix it together and place them in the refrigerator.  Easy to make, great to have on hand!  Plus she makes them using GNC Lean Protein! Make sure you head over to my fellow FitFluential ambassadors Jess’s blog Blonde Ponytail to get the recipe!

Those are my favorites, what about you?

Do you have any favorite bars you think I should check out?  Let me know!

Disclosure: This is not a compensated or sponsored post.  Just me sharing our favorite bars!

  1. Well since I don’t saddle up to bars with drinks at them, I guess I could try a snack bar now and then. Fork over the chocolate pepperminty one!

I love the idea of protein bars but they usually contain soy or peanuts, which I can’t have. I make my own but usually with oatmeal and sunbutter.
